Square Footage Method Calculating for 1 or More Walls (not including grasscloth)
|
Determine the total square footage of the area
- For each wall: measure the width of the wall in feet, and the height of the wall (or area to be covered) in feet.(round up to the nearest foot)
- Multiply the height times the width to get the total square footage of the area (remember to add all your walls together)
- Once you have the square footage - you can subtract the square footage of any large openings (such as double closet doors, etc). We
do not recommend that you subtract out doors or windows to allow for excess needed in pattern matching).
- For 8 foot or less height - divide the total square footage by 27 (27 square feet per roll)
- For 9 or 10 foot heights - divide the total square footage by 23 (23 square feet per roll)

|
Strip Method for Grasscloth Products (36" wide)
|
Determine the width of the walls to be covered (linear measurement)
(grasscloth products are 12 feet per roll, or 24 feet for a double roll)
- For each wall, measure the width of the wall in feet and add together for total width in feet
- For 8 foot or less heights: Divide the total width in feet by 3 and multiply by 2 for the number of rolls. (1 double roll will cover 3 strips)
- For 9 or 10 foot heights: Divide the total width of the wall(s) in feet by 3 and round up to the nearest even number for the number of rolls.
(1 double roll will cover 2 strips)

Calculating Wallpaper Border
|
Determine the total linear area in feet (measure the width only of the walls)
- Divide the linear area in feet by 15 (15 feet per roll) to get the number of rolls
- Multiply the pattern repeat by the number of rolls to get the possible pattern match loss and round down to the nearest foot.
- Add the total number of feet in step 1 to the total number of feet in step 2.
- Divide by 15 feet to get the number of needed rolls of border.

can affect actual product usage. A professional installer should be able to assist you in calculating should you require more precise measurements.
